Ngorongoro Farm House is a charming lodge situated on a 500-acre coffee plantation in the Karatu area of Tanzania. Designed to evoke the atmosphere of an old colonial farm, the lodge features hand-plaited thatched roofs, ample verandas, and colonial-style interiors. Its proximity to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area makes it an ideal base for exploring the Ngorongoro Crater and other attractions in Tanzania’s northern safari circuit.
The lodge offers 52 chalet-style rooms, including 49 standard rooms and 3 suites, all equipped with en-suite bathrooms, mosquito nets, and private terraces or balconies overlooking the gardens or coffee plantation. Guests can enjoy amenities such as a swimming pool, massage cabin, and souvenir shop. The main building houses a restaurant, lounge, and large terrace with spectacular views of the Oldeani volcano.
Dining at Ngorongoro Farm House is a farm-to-table experience, with meals prepared using fresh, organic vegetables harvested from the on-site garden. Guests can savor homemade cuisine in the indoor dining room, on the outdoor terrace, or even on their private verandas. The lodge also offers activities such as guided walks around the farm and coffee plantation, cultural visits to local communities, and excursions to nearby attractions like Lake Eyasi.
